This just in....I'm not crazy after all !

I've always been a sky watcher. I grew up on the east coast and always appreciated the clouds. When I moved to southern California, they were one of the first things I missed(along with good pizza, bagels and 24 hour diners). The sky was always so clear here. Yes, we would have the morning haze but that usually burned off pretty quick and then maybe there would be a nice brown layer of smog but never any real clouds. The only time real clouds would appear would be the rainy season and they would pass by rather quickly. Most of the year I would walk around looking up just wishing there would a nice big cumulonimbus to shade me, but there would be nothing but a big blue sky and the relentless blinding sun.

So one day about 10 years ago I look up and what I see literally stops me in my tracks and sends a chill up and down my spine. Running completely across the visible sky is a white trail that appears to be dripping down and expanding. This is something I had never seen before. Sure I had seen skywriting and I had seen contrails forming behind high altitude aircraft, but this was totally foreign and quite frightening. In a cloudless sky, in the heat of summer, in one of the driest areas of the country, trails of some sort of vapor were being sprayed over our heads. This alarmed the shit out of me. Now I knew how a bug felt as a cloud of Raid came down on his head. Was this some sort of biological attack? I actually watched the TV news that night just to see if there was any mention or an explanation of this strange phenomena I had just witnessed. Not a word. In the days, weeks, months and years that followed, the attacks on our skies increased at a relentless pace. Now it was not just one trail but many, maybe hundreds. I remember sitting out by my pool one summer night in '99 and watching row after row of trails move across the sky, illuminated by the moonlight. This was nonstop, for hours. During the days, so many trails were sprayed that they blocked out the sun, a complete white out of the summer sky. The spraying was sometimes done at night over the ocean so that the artificial clouds would drift over the land by morning. Satellite pictures confirmed this.

I tried to find out if anyone knew what this was that was happening everyday over our heads. When I would point it out to people many never even noticed it before and didn't even care. The apathy was stunning. Others who where a bit more knowledgeable would say they were just contrails, nothing to worry about. But contrails do not expand and fill the sky and linger all day. There had to be more to this story.

As we moved into the early years of the 21st century information began to surface on the internet. Aha! I was not the only one who was noticing this. This was happening all over the world, and most people writing about it agreed it had started aggressively sometime between 1997 and 1999. A new word was coined, "Chemtrails", short for chemical trails. Air samples were taken for testing by private individuals to try to find out what was being put in our air. High levels of barium were discovered along with many other things that would be considered hazardous to life and the environment. Trees in northern California started dying. People started speaking out, demanding answers and investigations. The politicians and the media ignored them. Chemtrails were placed in the category of wild tinfoil hat type conspiracy theories and anyone who brought up the subject was disregarded as a nutter.

It soon became obvious to anyone paying attention that what we were witnessing was some sort of secret intentional program being run by some sort of governmental agency for a purpose yet to be revealed. Was it a military operation, or and environmental program? Was it some sort of attempt at population control? Was it a combination of all three? Well since no government official would admit that they were anything but normal contrails it was left to the concerned citizens to figure it out for themselves.

A few years ago hopes were raised when a few local TV news reporters in different parts of the country ran some stories about chemtrails. They brought a lot of the questions out into the open, but despite their promises to follow through on the investigation the subject was quietly dropped and we were back to being regarded as conspiracy lunatics.

So now in the summer of 2009, there appears another ray of hope. The History Channel has decided to tackle the subject. To the best of my knowledge this is the first major channel to talk about this. I guess maybe the fact that it has been going on for ten years or more puts it in the category of "history". I don't usually watch TV so I don't really know where the History Channel rates as far as being a reliable source of information. I know a lot of people tell me it's the only channel they watch, along with maybe Turner Movie Classics. I have seen it several times when I've stayed in a hotel and found it interesting. The material presented in this clip is nothing new to those of us who have followed this subject all along and it barely scratches the surface of what could really be the motivation behind operation, and the effects it could be creating on our environment and our health, but what it clearly does is it acknowledges that there is something indeed going on and that we who took notice of it many years ago are right to be concerned and are not crazy after all.
